Welcome to Stanford Soccer Club tryout information.
The Stanford Soccer Club is a competitive youth soccer club serving Palo Alto and neighboring communities. Our teams compete in the Cal North – Cal Soccer League (CCSL) and NorCal Premier Soccer League across all competitive levels.
In conformance with the more serious side of youth soccer and new league mandates the Club Team Tryouts are different than past years. Tryouts held in late fall (November/December) for the coming spring season are now focused intra-club player adjustments, recreation players seeking a club team, and players who have recently moved into the area. Open Club Team tryouts occur in late May-June and are less restrictive.
All teams have the same recruiting objective: to make their team as competitive as possible by adding players with optimal mix of talent, skill and attitude. Even a well-established team with a nearly full roster will normally be willing to add a capable player. Less established teams will be more flexible in their recruitment expectations, perhaps underscoring ability and attitude more than experience.
Stanford Soccer Club’s official “Open Tryouts” will be held every year during May/June. These open tryouts fall within the approved tryout calendar provided by NorCal Premier soccer. Please check the Stanford Soccer Club website for details regarding open tryouts.
Stanford Soccer Club offers players not currently registered with a NorCal club, players part of any recreational program (including AYSO), and players that have recently moved into the area the opportunity to join through supplemental tryouts and open training sessions. Interested players are encouraged to check the Stanford Soccer Club website and/or email our Director of Coaching.
Currently registered players interested in joining Stanford Soccer Club outside of the tryout window need written permission from their club’s Director of Coaching. Please email our Director of Coaching and refer to the NorCal Premiers player movement rules. These rules can be found in the NorCal Premier’s Code of Ethics, Responsibilities Regarding Scouting and Recruiting section available for download.
